80s Opulence - Homeless
When pulling on my t-shirt this morning, it struck me that this is one of the gaudiest pieces I own. An obnoxious logo printed in a baroque style font on top of bold leopard print, it reminded me of 80s opulence. I stuck with the exaggerated look, and wore my 'higher' waisted baggy pants, shiny lace-ups & an oversized printed blazer. My stance also seemed 80s-editorial, but less exaggerated.
Blazer - Thrift
Pants - Thrift
Shirt - Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals
Shoes - Stacy Adams
Now the 'Homeless' part of the title derives from a few things. Firstly because most of what I am wearing was bought from the thrift store, not that thrift isn't chic. Its just that there is a fat chance that a homeless (wo)man is just as likely to purchase from the same thrift store. Also my shoes are from high school, and have gone through far too many classy, juvenile events. Thus they are absolutely trashed, but they still shine like king midas's silver.
have a good night everyone, and watch the video I posted the link too. It's next level chic.

One Size Definitely Does Not Fit All
It's a bird! It's a plane! No, wait... it's just me in the world's most gigantic shirt ever.
I absolutely love how huge this shirt is though, I think its equivalent to a XXXL. And lets just say I am definitely more of the small size variety. Needless to say I am wearing this shirt today because I woke up 25 minutes before class starts, and I live 35 minutes away. That also explains why I am wearing the same shoes I wore on wednesday, morning brain neglected to remind me of that. So I walked around all day feeling like the girl who wears pyjamas to school, utterly disgusting. And it probably goes without saying, but the hat on my head is covering disgusting bed head. I look like Giorgio Tsoukalos from Ancient Aliens, and if you don't know who that is I definitely suggest looking him up to fully understand my reference.
Shirt - Adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott
Hat - Supreme
Pants - H&M
Socks - American Apparel
Shoes - Dr. Martens
Hopefully I will have managed to wake up on time tomorrow so I can present something a little more interesting. I am going to go nap ya'll.

The Un-Posted Photo of January Fifteenth
This is the photo I took last tuesday, I never posted it because I didn't have it on my computer. But it's here, IT'S HERE !
I was actually just about to jump here, I was trying to emulate River Viiperi from the Jeremy Scott look book when he was wearing the exact track suit as I.
I however enjoy the out come of this better, I look incredibly happy. And incredibly dumb.
Good Night Everyone !

Light Colors +A Tired Face
When scrolling through my previous posts yesterday, I realized I have been wearing a lot of dark colours and over sized pieces lately. For today's look I wanted to do quite the opposite. Slim fitting pieces in light colours were my outfit aspirations, and plus light colors make me look less pale so its a win win !
I wore a cap that I thrifted a while ago, at first the inside was white and made it look like I constantly had a due rag on under my hat. So I ended up sharpie-ing the inside of the hat, now it just leaves a black ring on my head... My pants are the painted ones from the Margiela x H&M collaboration. My shirt is a basic from H&M and my shoes are Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals FW12.
For me tomorrow is my last day of classes for the week, and running on a very little sleep I couldn't be more excited to finally sleep in, (hopefully).
I will try to retrieve my outfit shots from yesterday, and try to post them on the weekend. However, for now I have pants to sew, for tomorrow morning...

Athletic Wear for The Non-Athletic. Round #3
Today I almost broke one of my New Years Resolutions, I forgot to photograph my outfit. Well technically my friend did, but she neglected to send me the photos. To compensate I scoured the internet and dug up the exact pieces I wore today and made a little collage.
I knew going into today that it was going to be a grueling one, so I dressed as such. My Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals track suit and shirt are both from the Fall 2012 Collection. And my Dr.Marten's are from their Monochrome Collection, I purchased them back in June of 2012.
I am absolutely exhausted from 12 hours of sewing and drafting today...

NOW YOU JUST STOP IT.
Jeremy Scott is a mad man. He just won't stop. (And thats why we love him right?). Written word just surfaced that their is another exclusive Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals Wing Shoe set to be released. This particular shoe is to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, its only fitting that the shoe is co-designed by an Asian. And this lucky Asian is non other then Eason Chan !
Don't know who he is?
Well thats okay because neither do I. My music type is typically of the English Language Variety. On another note, the preview pictures that have been released look incredible and I am beyond excited to see what the whole shoe will look like.
The shoe is set to be released on January 4th, of the new year. So far it is only said to be released in Hong Kong, but one can only hope that a size 9 will make its way over to this far country called Canada.
Hope you are all having a lovely Monday, and That this post made your night just a bit brighter!

Jeremy Scott Has Done It Again
"Jeremy Scott for President". If I was the mega whore that is Global Media, that would be my eternal Head Line. Jeremy Scott never ceases to amaze me with his ingenious designs and wacky collaborations. The fool that thought he may have hit his halt with winged shoes and pill covered carryalls was sadly mistaken. Jeremy Scott recently paired up with bite sized car producer, Smart Car to put out a vehicle that could surely fly, or it appears so at the very least. I managed to snag a couple photos from Pelayo Diaz's Instagram (of KateLovesMe ), and am going to publicly plagiarize said photos here for you folks.
Needless to say I am having irregular heart palpitations due to these photos. My palms are sweaty, and yearning to grip the hopefully winged steering wheel and take that car a drive. However, two things are stopping me from performing such task, the first being that I have no way of contacting Mr. Scott and kindly asking for said vehicle, and the second being my fear of driving, well... anything. All of that aside I am completely obsessed with this car, and I will go out on a limb here and say that this Designer x Car Company Collaboration is far more exciting then the Gucci x Fiat 500. Hard to believe, "But you'll get used to it" - Ja'mie King, Summer Heights High.
Hope this brightened up a few Tuesday nights,
until next time...

Oh Instagram, it's like twitter for people who hate to read. So inevitably I am an avid user of said 'app'. And for lack of a better segway you can follow me at svarsek. #shamelessselfpromotion . Almost every time I make a purchase, wear a decent outfit or its a nice day out, my initial reaction is to instagram it ! For those of you not yet following me I thought I would include 2 of my outfits this week.
Clearly this week (like every week) Jeremy Scott was my designer of choice. You can't go wrong with a rainbow of keyboard keys splashed across your torso, the only downside to this shirt is the random attacks from people thinking the keys are functional. Really people, oh the world we live in. And needless to say I wore the pink jacket on wednesday. Because if I didn't wear pink on a wednesday, Regina, Karen & Gretchen wouldn't let me sit at their lunch table, and that is so not fetch.
Hopefully this post didn't take to much of your instagraming time.
Have a good weekend and keep trying to make fetch happen.

AUTUMN INTO FALL COATS
See what I did there? Usually people think they are all clever because because they use the word 'fall' to mean two things at once, like "fall into fall coats". However I spit on the face of whoever started that textual trend. So lets all Autumn into coats shall we?
Unfortunately it is that time of year again, where the leaves are changing colour, you have to stop prancing around outside in just a tee and when walking about outside in the morning and night you feel like you just stepped into a freezing hellhole. Unfortunately. But we have evolved as a species and have since realized that bundling up is key, (because colds are not chic). And we cant be doing it in american apparel hoodies and your basic peacoat any more, because thats just disgusting. I did some major investigative research and found some MAYJOR fall essentials, cue Rachel Zoe !
Do we all just love this elementary style collage I made for all of you? However my incredible computer skills aside, a huge trend I noticed in outerwear was puffer jackets. Now call them what you want, puffer jackets, quilted shells, padded gilets, they are the it piece this season it appears to be. I am half loving the trend because I love boxy pieces that make your body look like that of the likes of our friend Sponge Bob Square Pants. Some may not be too keen on that look, but thats what Balmain is for silly ! My personal favorite may have to be the Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals, because I am a die hard Jeremy Scott fan and I feel he can do no wrong. But I'll leave it up to all of you to pick your own puffer/padded favorites.
I am kind of into making these collages today, I might make it a regular thing. Hashtag Way Fun. And these were just a few pieces I chose because I love them and I thought they were all beautiful. I labeled each with the respected designers logo and something that each of them reminded me of. However I chose not to ad 'reminded me of' pictures next to the top left coats because well they both reminded me of each other so I guess technically I did. What ever. The Celine coat next to the Preen rabbit hair coat is actually from spring 2012, but It is a great transitional piece and I could definitely see someone rocking this is the autumn months, I sure would.
Well I will leave you all with those lovely jackets and coats and allow you all to ponder what you will be purchasing for the cold seasons. I hope my scientific research has aided you all positively and you will all make a very chic choice.
Enjoy the next few days where ever you all may be, and please don't freeze.

Brightening-Up this slow Thursday
From the moment my 6:30 am alarm started blaring 'Animal' by The Neon Trees I had a feeling it was going to be a slow day. The clouds were here, the sleep from my eyelids just did not want to leave and I knew I would have to manipulate darts on a skirt today (which I have never done), and yes it prove to be challenge. When the clock hit mid day I was pleased to be sitting with some friends in a food court with some oh-so calorie filled terriyaki stir-fry, but that's what guilty pleasures are for right? I soon bid my farewell and hopped on the train to attend to my job, luckily for me we got in a generous donation of red bull, and you know I love me a little energy at that 2 o-clock feeling. fast forward a few hours and I am simultaneously surfing several variations of social media, and racking up my 'Happy List'...
Now who doesn't love seeing what the fabulous spend their money on? A 65 hundred dollar teal faux fur (and no, not "fox fur"), yes please. I must admit Meadham Kirchhoff is quit the talent, and even though his runway looks may not be for everyone (I adore them however), the single pieces paired with a subdued colour palette can quench just about any fashionistas thirst. And yes I understand $6,445 is a pretty penny, http://www.amazon.com/Wide-Faux-Luxury-Turquoise-Fabric/dp/B003CTQAYQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1348211323&sr=1-8 so this is a link to some faux fur to create your own version. Moving right along...
In my opinion, Mama Miuccia can do no wrong. Her Spring 2013 Woman's RTW Show in Milan today proved my theory satisfyingly right. I'm not sure how she does it, but she always finds a way to incorporate statement eye wear, innovative footwear and wearable art EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I absolutely love it (and her ofc). The flower motif reminds me of those Christmas cookies with little pieces of maraschino cherries in the centre, on a ADHD note I always wished maraschino was actually moschino. And those tranny - japanese geisha - jetsons - margiela shoes blow my mind and several other areas. Speaking of mind blowing shoes,
While scrolling down my instagram feed today I happened upon this breathtaking photo. Needless to say I am an enormous Jeremy Scott fan and any pictures of his new creations cause me to have irregular heart palpitations, ie those totem pole wing 2.0s. I have heard rumours of these spiritual creatures but never have I been able to put a face to a name (or a wing for that matter), until today. I love this shoe and hopefully it will grace my average sized foot in months to come, or now if Jeremy is reading this and wants to send me a thank you for product promotion, its worth a shot right?
Well I will leave you all with those images and opinionated words, that was today's instalment of the Quirky Wintour. Hope it was enjoyable.
