Easter Attire

Jacket - HM
Shirt - HM
Pants - Maison Martin Margiela x HM
Hat - My Mother's Closet
Shoes - Cole Haan
Sunglasses - Ray Ban

First things first, I am kind of obsessed with this jacket right now. Its one of those pieces that you buy, wear once, then find it a year later and never take it off. In my opinion its the perfect mix of Amish, CelinĂ© Pre Fall 13 & Thom Browne.

Now second things second, I am disgusted with the amount of H&M I wear from a day to day basis. The fact that I am trying to boycott fast fashion, while simultaneously wearing it, is emblematic of hypocritical tendencies. In my defence I haven't shopped fast fashion since the Margiela x HM drop. But Maison Martin Margiela doesnt run cheap, and my thirst for something new is rising, and I am scared I may succumb to the new spring wears popping up at a mall near you.

Now Third things third, its saturday and its sunny. And the fact that I am sitting behind a computer screen clacking away is pitiful. So with that I bid you all a happy day, and a happier Easter.

Rulers Are SO Last Season

Jacket - HM
Pants - Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals
Shoes - Maison Martin Margiela x HM
Sunglasses - Burberry

I can tell its definitely the end of term when I realize the excessive amount of hours I spend at school start to rub off on my sartorial choices. Fortunately I wore these to pattern drafting class today, where I managed to forget my ruler. Luckily I was wearing these pants, yes it involved a lot of awkward leg bending on the table. But the outcome was swell, and at least now I know that I do have a potential career of being a gymnast.

Bleacher Preacher

Jacket - Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals
Shirt - GAP
Pants - Margiela x HM
Socks - American Apparel
Shoes - New Balance
Sunglasses - Burberry

It may appear as though I am 'that person' who deems it necessary to block their eyes from the atrocities of the world at all times via tinted eyewear. But Im not, I swear. The photo doesn't show it, but the sun creeps behind the clouds and secretly and slowly incinerates your retinas. Better safe then sorry I always say!

Tuesday

Jacket - Lee
Shirt - Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals
Backpack - Herschel
Pants - Margiela x HM
Shoes - Dr Martens

With April around the corner and weather seeming less dull, my heavily overused vapid back drops are about too be put to their long winters nap (or spring for that matter). It never occurred to me, that on my walk home their are endless places to stand and snap an outfit photo. Endless amounts of battered wooden fences and over grown grass, the epitome of neo-classicism if you ask me. (kidding obviously)

'Rick Owens' Factory Defective

Once again, the above gif lacks relevancy. But being irrelevant is the new black right?
I digress.

Shirt - Thrift
Pants - L'Agence
Shoes - Thrift
Bracelet - Margiela x H&M

It would seem as though I spontaneously grew 2 inches over night, but they don't call me the master of illusions for nothing. The main prop to my current visual deception, are my 'new' nineties chunky sneakers.

These shoes that appear to be slowly melting into the ground, quickly elevate you to new heights of tackiness. Personally I would describe these as a Rick Owens factory defective model, but you can describe them as you please.

Au Revoir.

Le Marais Vintage

Honestly, I couldn't find a gif that would in any way be relevant to this post. Well I suppose if you would like me to shut up the above gif would apply, but I surely hope that isn't the case.

Shirt - Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals
Jacket - Vintage Bomber from Paris
Pants - Margiela x H&M
Shoes - Salvatore Ferragamo
Necklace - Vintage Givenchy Costume Jewelry

I am sure that many of you have noticed the vast repertoire of back drops I 'shoot' in front of. Pictured above is the hallways that leads from my kitchen, past a bathroom & into the mud room. Its a very exotic location if you ask me.

The top part of my outfit was inspired by someone who had a black leather jacket and the same shirt as me. So its not blatant copying its simply 'inspiration', or so I hope. Now in respects to what Im actually wearing, Im just going to talk about my jacket. For the past couple years or so, the only place I ever seemed to buy my jackets were in Europe. For some reason I had always had an inability to find jackets I liked here in Canada. Probably because I had milked out ever H&M and Zara from about the time I was 14-16. I no longer take part in shopping there, except for the designer collaborations. They always seem to hit the nail on the head with those. The main reason to my boycott of fast fashion is simply because its better to support ethical labour and yada yada yada. And also because its more fun to buy stuff from other stores, that people most likely wont have. Like my jacket Im wearing ! My jacket I bought in a vintage store in Le Marais in Paris. It sort of reminds me of something the early Michael Jackson would wear, Im not too sure why though. I was never really a fan of him, but I am just assuming he would own a piece like this.

Okay I am going to go draft a pleated gusset, yay.

good night !

FELINÉ

Shirt - Kenzo
Pants - Margiela x H&M
Socks - Converse
Shoes - Converse

So ironically back in November I blogged about people's obsession with a certain green Kenzo sweater, and how I hated seeing them everywhere. And 4 months later, I buy my first Kenzo piece. I sound like the world's biggest hypocrite, but in my defence I blogged a about a green sweater with a tiger on it. And the shirt I am wearing above is almost completely different, well kind of I suppose.

Me being a hypocrite aside, I do now adore this shirt. And Holt Renfrew has a great selection, well had a great selection. Because Kenzo just flies of the shelves there.

Have a great night everyone !

Wow, it is like a million times easier to post my outfits in this format. Expect this more often...

Off to do marketing homework !

Daily Dose of Optimism

Today was one of those days that seemed to drag on forever, and by the time your sitting staring at your computer screen, its 10 pm and you wonder what you've done with the past 22 hours. And as excited as you are to go to sleep, your less excited for what the next day has for you. And although I should at least try to be optimistic right now, the pressure of everything has made that option null and void long ago. The best I can do is drink as much caffeine as possible and push through the next while. JOY!

Shirt - 90's Tommy Hilfiger
Pants - Margiela x H&M
Shoes - Converse

On a lighter note, that is what I wore today. I neglected to pick out an outfit the night before, so scrambling this morning I decided to throw on some random, mildly fun top. I typically have a few rules I follow if I don't know what to wear.

-Wear a fun top that I havn't worn in a while
-Wear tapered pants
-Don't wear glasses

These rules have proven to be fool proof, and the outcome is never anything outstanding. Just mildly pleasing, and enough to get me through the day without feeling awful about my choices.

Since today is that start of my 'long weekend', I wish you all a good rest of your week. I will try to conjure up something to post about.

ps, I recently discovered a group called The Chevin. And though I have only listened to a few of their songs so far, I am definitely liking what I am hearing. And my image above was sort of inspired by their album cover.

The Chevin - Beautiful World  This is one of my favourites right now. Enjoy !

7.2.13

I went to the Bank today.

So I went to the bank today, and while I was walking out I glanced in the mirror and noticed that I looked like someone who would work at a bank. A mirror selfie was definitely necessary to visually document this huge revelation.

Peacoat - Banana Republic
Pants - Margiela x H&M
Socks - American Apparel
Shoes - Comme des Garcons x Converse
Bag - Coach

Please don't hate on me for wearing a Coach bag, I removed the gaudy hangtags to make the bag inconspicuous. On a side note, I wonder what the people at the ATM were thinking when a supposed bank employee was taking selfies at the entrance mirror. Probably like, "wow that person must love their job so much that they document each passing day with a photo",  I digress.

On another side note I was just thinking, for the past months I have been trying to make the time go by quickly. Ive been not keeping track of dates, keeping busy, yada yada yada. Today I just stopped for a moment and thought, "gadamn time has certainly flown by, and now I can't make it slow down". Like forealzies.

Well that was my post for today, please laugh at my banter and ignore my bad grammar. I fully intend on going on a 5 day hiatus, so at that I wish you all a lovely long weekend.

My Alter Ego

On one side you have a Margiela runway show watching fool, and the other you have a sports fan.

Put them together and what have you got ?!

A Margiela x HM re-edition of their S/S 2005 Supporter's Scarves Sweater !

My outfit today doesn't sound quintessentially me, a sport scarf sweater, levis & timberlands... hmmph no. But the fact that the sweater is a Margiela collab piece, the jeans are tapered and the timberlands are simply a chunky soled lace-up, then that sounds more my style.

Would love to stay and chat but I have a Textile Sciences project that is demanding my full attention. Until next time !

Cut & Paste

Please do not mind the distorted photo that is the mediocre cut & paste equivalent to the Texas Chain Saw Massacre's leather face mask. It was a busy day and to be completely honest snapping a quick outfit photo was too much of a task today. To compensate I whipped out my trusty laptop & camera and snapped away minutes prior to posting this.

I slept for 3 hours and woke up feeling like a spring chicken. (Im being sarcastic). Being as I wanted nothing more then to just curl up in a chinchilla shrug and call it a day, my outfit mission was well comfort. Oh how I hate admitting that.

Fun Tip:
Dress pants are more comfortable then jeans, they are lighter and softer and look way better. So thats what I opted for today.

Sweatshirt: Margiela x H&M
Pants: Margiela x H&M
Boots: Sebago

The title of today's post was firstly pertaining to me being a virtuoso at photo editing, as well as simply describing each piece I was wearing today. My sweatshirt having a shirt printed onto it, my pants being two pants made into one, and of course my boots being a fusion of an ankle boot and a penny loafer. Pretty fukcing clever if you ask me.

Now I must try to complete my assignments to hopefully get a tad more then a 3 hour sleep tonight.

Go To Sleep Winter, Your Drunk.

AHHH, Spring has sprung. Well not exactly but this photo certainly makes it appear as though that has happened. I am currently in a sunny disposition seeing as my weekend can finally start, and my pant fitting went great today, (horay)!

For my outfit today I embraced my inner asian and wore a shirt by A. Bros Productions, I think thats the brand. The shirt's tag just has random little cartoons on it so Im not really too sure who makes it. My pants are Margiela x HM, my socks are American Apparel and I love them. The orange chapeau on my tete is a supreme, and I love how it kind of blends in with the flowers that are taking over my picture. And finally on my feet are a pair of Alifes.

I hope this picture brightened up your day, and hopefully I have inspired you to wear your most ridiculous shirts. Because its super fun too do so.

Light Colors +A Tired Face

When scrolling through my previous posts yesterday, I realized I have been wearing a lot of dark colours and over sized pieces lately. For today's look I wanted to do quite the opposite.  Slim fitting pieces in light colours were my outfit aspirations, and plus light colors make me look less pale so its a win win !

I wore a cap that I thrifted a while ago, at first the inside was white and made it look like I constantly had a due rag on under my hat. So I ended up sharpie-ing the inside of the hat, now it just leaves a black ring on my head... My pants are the painted ones from the Margiela x H&M collaboration. My shirt is a basic from H&M and my shoes are Jeremy Scott x Adidas Originals FW12.

For me tomorrow is my last day of classes for the week, and running on a very little sleep I couldn't be more excited to finally sleep in, (hopefully).

I will try to retrieve my outfit shots from yesterday, and try to post them on the weekend. However, for now I have pants to sew, for tomorrow morning...
